ExceedMDx Genetic Testing offers a reliable, accurate and confidential home paternity test to establish whether an alleged father is a child's biological father. This test can be used in a number of different situations, including:
To confirm paternity when there is doubt due to actual or suspected infidelity
When baby switching is suspected
To confirm the biological father for a child who has been conceived using in vitro fertilization
Test Description: DNA (deoxyribonucleic Acid) is the genetic material that determines a person's biological characteristics. The complete human genome is stored as DNA sequences within the chromosome pairs found in the cells in a human body. A person’s DNA is acquired from both parents; one copy of each chromosome comes from the mother and one copy comes from the father. A paternity test is used to determine whether two individuals have a biological father-child relationship. The test is performed on DNA from both the child and the alleged father to determine the degree with which their DNA matches. The DNA results are based on the analysis of 16 standard genetic markers known as Short Tandem Repeats (STRs), also called The Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) markers. The fingerprints of each test subject for 15 of these genetic systems are compared for matches, while the 16th marker is used for sex determination. If the DNA from the alleged father does not match the DNA from the child, our analysis will provide a result showing the probability of paternity test is 0%. If the DNA from the alleged father does match the DNA from the child, this confirms that the alleged father is the biological father of the child with a reported probability of paternity of at least 99.95%.
